2009-2010 Hunting Fees

Initial Hunt Deposit: $200 per hunter to reserve the date(s) of your hunt(s) [non-refundable; includes the harvest of one antlerless deer] 

NEW REQUIREMENTS:

BOOKING DECLARATION: All hunters are required to designate whether they want a trophy hunt package or a cull hunt package.  Once the declaration is made, hunters will be expected to fulfill their hunt accordingly or the $200 deposit will not be discounted from the hunt and all applicable trophy fees will apply based on the type of hunt booked!

Also, as of December 1, 2006, an additional $50 non-refundable, non-discountable deposit must be provided prior to hunting for any and each guest accompanying a hunter to the preserve.

Trophy Fee Calculation Table: Find the figure in Table 1 corresponding to the number of points and width of spread on the harvested animal. Add the corresponding Table 2 Figure regarding length of the main tine to the Table 1 figure for the total trophy fee. All measurements are rounded to the nearest whole inch of the inside spread at the widest point and the length of the longest tine measured from the bottom of the antler beam to the horn tip.   So, in summary, the figure from Table 1 must be added to the figure from Table 2 to determine the total trophy fee.

NOTE:  More than 14 legal points (of 1 inch or more) or more than 22 inches of inside spread [as rounded] is calculated at a rate of $125 per additional point AND $150 per additional inch of inside spread.

** any antler set with an inside spread of less than 13" is ILLEGAL in Colorado County unless it possesses at least one horn without any tines, or has at least 6 points on one horn. ANY OTHER BUCK MUST HAVE AT LEAST THREE POINTS ON ONE HORN AND A 13" SPREAD TO BE LEGAL IN COLORADO COUNTY, TEXAS.  T.P.W.D. CULL BUCK HUNTING PERMITS ARE AVAILABLE ON OUR RANCH FOR DEER THAT WOULD NOT OTHERWISE BE LEGAL.  PLEASE SEE OUR CULL BUCK HUNT PAGE ON THIS SITE FOR THAT INFORMATION.

NOTE:  Main tine length greater than 13 inches is calculated at $125 per additional inch of tine length.  Colored Zones represent the most desirable harvest traits: Yellow=Outstanding (often 150+ B&C points), Green=Trophy (often 160+ B&C points, depending on horn structure and other factors)
